General Assembly

A General Assembly, comprising representatives from all World Gastroenterology Organisation (WGO) member societies and regional associations, shall review the work of the Governing Council and attends to other business including determination of the venue of the World Congress of Gastroenterology (WCOG). The WCOG occurs on a biennial basis, with the latest being held in December 2022.

The General Assembly members vote on amendments to the statutes and the adoption of bylaws, as well as the election of WGO officers. The General Assembly also ratifies the selected bid for each World Congress of Gastroenterology. There shall be only one vote for each member society.
